What could be causing sharp lower right abdominal pain that comes and goes?

I’ve been getting this strange, sharp pain in my lower right abdomen that comes and goes. It’s not constant, but when it hits, it’s enough to make me stop what I’m doing, and I’m starting to worry about what might be causing these sudden episodes.

That sounds rough. I’ve had spikes like that too—not constant, then a sharp jolt when I moved a certain way. Could be gas, a muscle tweak, or something that needs a clinician to check. If it comes back strong, lasts more than a few minutes, or is accompanied by fever or vomiting, get seen sooner rather than later.

Spent a week keeping notes: when the pain hit, what I ate, how much water I drank, even what belt I wore. Turns out it mostly lined up with big meals and dehydration. I tried a warm compress and a slow walk, and cut back caffeine a bit. The episodes still showed up, just less predictable.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s something else like stress or sleep—you swallow a lot of tension and then your gut responds. It’s easy to fixate on the pain, but the pattern didn’t lock in for me. I still didn’t have an answer after a while.

Quick question: do you have a fever along with the pain?
