My 2016 Outback has started making a faint, high-pitched whine that seems to come from the dashboard area when I’m accelerating. It’s not the engine or the belts, and it completely goes away when I let off the gas. I’m worried it could be something with the electronic power steering system, but I can’t pin down where that noise is really coming from.
