What could cause a rapid clicking when starting my Honda Accord?

My 2015 Honda Accord has been sitting for about a week and I went to start it this morning and got nothing but a rapid clicking from the engine bay when I turn the key, but the interior lights and radio are still on fine. Is this definitely a dead battery or could the starter solenoid be giving out and not engaging the gear properly, or maybe even a bad ground connection that's still allowing some power through for the smaller stuff?

That rapid click with the interior lights on makes me think the cell isn’t delivering enough current, but it isn’t conclusive. Could be the starter solenoid, a dodgy ground, or loose/dirty cables. I’ve had cars do that and it was a weak charge that wouldn’t spin the engine but would light the dash.

I left mine for a week and when I tried to start it the current wasn’t enough. I jumped it and it coughed to life; the battery was the issue, but after that I kept a closer eye on the terminals and kept a charger handy.

Could a bad ground still power the stereo and lights but refuse to engage the starter? I’ve seen a loose ground cause exactly that bite where the lights stay bright but the starter barely clicks.

One time my mind wandered into the idea of the starter and wiring, and I almost chased the wrong thing. Anyway, with a week idle and that rapid chatter, I’d start with terminals and cables, then the starter circuit seems plausible too.
