What could cause armor mod meshes to deform in animation in Outfit Studio?

I’ve been trying to get a custom armor set from a popular mod to work with my character’s specific skeleton, but the meshes keep deforming badly in certain animations. I followed the mod page’s instructions for using the outfit studio, but I’m not sure if I’m missing a crucial step in the weight painting process or if the base skeleton itself is just incompatible.

Yeah, I’ve run into this exact vibe. The armor looks fine in a still pose and then the running or jumping animation pulls metal across the skin. I spent an evening tweaking vertex weights and it helped a little, but some frames still look off.

Could be the skeleton itself not playing nice with that armor. I tried swapping rigs in a different mod build and the same wobble showed up, which makes me think it isn’t just a weight paint issue.

I also wonder if the armor was built for a slightly different torso/shoulder shape. I once had plates deform because the mod assumed a wider chest, even after weight fixes. It helped to test with a lighter piece on a neutral pose, but the problem persisted when movement got complex.

Have you tried testing with a clean baseline skeleton to see if the issue follows the armor or the rig? I’m not sure it solves it, but it’s helped me narrow things down before.
