What could cause persistent ear pressure and muffled hearing on one side?
#1
I’ve been dealing with a constant feeling of pressure in my ears for about a month now, and my hearing seems slightly muffled, especially on the left side. I don’t have any pain or recent cold, but it’s starting to make me anxious about eustachian tube dysfunction.

I had something like that last year. A stubborn pressure in one ear and it sounded a bit muffled, no pain. I tried swallowing, yawning, chewing gum a lot, and it eased for a minute here and there but never really cleared up.

It might be worth getting checked since it’s been a month. Wax buildup or allergies can do this, or fluid behind the eardrum. A quick exam could rule out something obvious and give you a plan.

I did try a saline spray and a warm steam thing, felt a little relief for a bit, but then it came back. I also noticed it tends to shift a bit after I lie down.

Could the real issue just be the stress about it and not the ear at all, and that’s making it feel heavier?
