What could cause sharp lower abdominal pain that comes and goes?
#1
I’ve been getting this weird, sharp pain in my lower abdomen that comes and goes for a few weeks now. It’s not constant, but when it happens it’s a real jolt, and I’m not sure if it’s something muscular or if it’s actually coming from inside.

I had something similar once. It would flare up as a sharp jab in the lower belly and fade for days. It felt more like a muscle or pelvic floor thing than a big internal issue. I slowed down, used a warm compress, and walked gently, and the episodes finally faded after a couple of weeks, even though I never got a clear answer.

It could be a lot of things from gas or constipation to a cyst or a bladder issue. The come-and-go pattern is why it’s hard to know. If it starts hurting all the time, or you get fever, vomiting, fainting, or blood in urine or stool, you should get checked.

I tried keeping a simple diary for a week—note when it hit, what I ate, and what I had done that day. No clean pattern showed up, but it helped me feel less blind when talking to a clinician. I also asked a clinic about triage if it got worse.

Maybe it’s not a big organ problem at all, maybe a nerve or something drifting in and out. It’s frustrating not having a clear cause, and I wouldn’t want to miss something serious. Do you notice any link to your period or workouts?
