What could chronic RUQ pain after fatty meals mean for my gallbladder?
#1
I’ve been dealing with this persistent, dull ache in my upper right abdomen for a few months now, and my doctor mentioned it could be related to my gallbladder. The pain seems to come and go, often after I eat something fatty, but I’m not having the classic intense attacks I read about. I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this kind of ongoing discomfort instead of sudden, severe pain.

I’ve had something similar, this dull upper right ache after heavy meals. It isn’t a fireworks moment, more like a steady nagging that comes and goes. At first I blamed gas and thought it would fade, but months later it stays on and off.

I kept a simple diary for a few weeks, jotting down meals and how the pain hit. It tended to show up after fatty or fried foods, not a dramatic attack. The doctor mentioned the gallbladder could be involved, which made me pay more attention to what I ate.

Could it actually be reflux or some mild gut flare, and the real issue is something else entirely?

When a flare hits I’ve used a heat pad and a short walk after meals, and it helps a bit but the relief is temporary. I didn’t rush to tests yet and I’m not sure if that’s the right move.
