What did the final scene mean about the character's resignation?

I just finished watching the movie and I’m still turning over the final scene in my head. The way the main character just walked away from everything, leaving that one object on the table, felt so deliberate but I can’t quite piece together what the director meant by it. Did anyone else get a sense of quiet resignation from that, or maybe something more hopeful?

That final walk felt like a quiet surrender to me. The lone object on the table made it feel heavy, as if what mattered most had already been left behind.

I keep thinking about whether the ending is hopeful or just exhausted. Maybe the film is saying that the moment matters more than what comes next and that is enough to rest on.

Could it be that it is not resignation but a ritual of closure and the film wants us to notice the small act of leaving something behind as the real message?

I did a quick rewatch I paused when the light touched the edge of that object and I noticed the table stayed still longer than the character did does that mean something to you or am I over reading it
