What do you think about Project Nova's leak and its next-gen visuals?

I just saw the leaked gameplay snippet for Project Nova and honestly, it looks almost too good to be true. The lighting and particle effects in that cityscape sequence seem to push way beyond what I thought the current console generation was capable of handling without serious performance hits.

I’ve chased scenes like that in other demos and it usually hides a budget constraint. The lighting and particles look gorgeous, but once you pan through a dense city with cars and crowds, the frame rate can take a dip or you lose some shadows to keep streaming assets in.

I rushed to test something similar in a build last year. With all the effects on, the frame tempo buckled whenever the camera swung past a busy intersection. It felt cinematic, not like actual play.

Is this truly gameplay? If it is, someone’s showing an edge case or they’re masking a cutscene with gameplay controls.

I keep thinking about how much time they spend tuning the engine for lighting and materials, and how much of that might be baked into the scene. It makes me wonder whether the problem is really the visuals or the streaming pipeline and asset budget.
