What do you think about the combat feel in the leaked open-world RPG footage?

I just saw that leaked gameplay clip for the new open-world RPG, and I'm honestly a bit worried about the combat looking so floaty and weightless. It reminds me of another game that got criticized for that, and I can't shake the feeling it might make the whole experience feel less impactful. Has anyone else who saw the footage felt the same way?

I watched it too and the combat did feel floaty to me. After trying similar systems in other open worlds, hits land without that weight you expect, which makes fights feel less decisive. I spent a chunk of time trying to time light and heavy attacks and it never felt sturdy, just floaty. Not a dealbreaker yet, but it’s off-putting.

Honestly, I’m holding judgment until we see more. Early footage can skim over the rough edges. I did compare a few sequences to a heavier, more grounded combat clip I’ve played before and the difference was clear. I’ll be watching for more clips or a hands-on to tell if the weight improves with polish.

Could the problem be the camera height rather than the core combat?

I did a quick mock-up in a test build and the weight still felt inconsistent. A few moments it snapped into place, other times it drifted. I’m not sure if it’s early audio-visuals or actual physics; either way I’m not convinced yet, but I’m not ruling it out either. If they tighten timing, things could change fast.
