What do you think about the PS5 Pro on an older 4K TV?

I finally got my hands on a PS5 Pro, but I’m honestly not sure the visual upgrade is worth it on my older 4K TV. The difference seems really subtle in the games I’ve tried, and I’m wondering if anyone else is feeling the same way about this generational leap.

I grabbed the PS5 Pro last month and tried it on my old 4K TV. The upgrade feels real but not revelatory. A few games look a touch crisper and the motion feels smoother, but on a non HDR screen it’s more like a whisper than a shout.

Most of my time playing felt very similar to my previous setup, with only occasional bonus in frame rate or texture pop that I could really notice in a side-by-side.

I did a quick side-by-side with a friend who has a newer OLED, and he swears the improvements are obvious. On my TV the difference was subtle enough to make me question if the upgrade was worth the extra money.

Maybe the real bottleneck isn’t the GPU at all but the TV’s HDR brightness and the HDMI pipeline. Could that be why the jump feels muted?
