What do you think about this RPG's late-game balance?

I just finished my first playthrough of the new RPG everyone's talking about, and I'm honestly a bit let down by the endgame. The final boss felt like a massive difficulty spike that required grinding for hours just to survive the first phase, which really killed the pacing for me. Did anyone else find the late-game balance a bit off, or was I just missing a key strategy?

I felt the same. The end boss spike was brutal, and I spent two evenings farming the same route just to survive the first phase.

I tried switching to a buffer heavy armor build and I did land a tiny stagger window that let me push a bit of damage, but I wasn’t sure if that was intended or a glitch.

I clocked around 8-10 hours on that last stretch and it started to feel more like a grind than a payoff. If the rest of the game had kept a steadier tempo, maybe it wouldn’t sting so much.
