What do you think of premium editions like The Dark Knight Returns Absolute?

I just got the Absolute Edition of *The Dark Knight Returns* and I'm honestly a bit torn. The oversized art is stunning, but the book is so massive and heavy it's actually difficult to read comfortably. I love having it, yet I find myself reaching for my old trade paperback instead for an actual reading session. Has anyone else felt this way about these premium formats?

I get that The Absolute edition's page size is gorgeous but the heft makes it a chore to read in one sitting I ended up on the couch with a lap desk and a good light

I read in chunks about 20 pages at a time with a timer set I found that kept my wrists from hurting and I finished a few chapters that way

I keep a regular trade paperback for actual reading and the Absolute edition sits on a shelf like a museum piece

Premium formats feel more like display items than reading tools sometimes I bought it for the big panels and the art looks amazing in good light but I still grab the regular copy when I want to get through a chunk

Do you think the problem is the size or the binding?

I once thought about scanning it to read on a tablet and maybe annotate but the tactile page still draws me back

It is beautiful even if reading is fiddly I keep it for the art and the moment when I actually do flip through a few pages
