What does The King in Yellow mean for Hastur and cosmic horror vibes?

I just rewatched the scene where the character picks up the book in the background, and the title is clearly "The King in Yellow." I always thought that was just a cool prop, but now I'm wondering if it's a direct nod to the cosmic horror elements the director loves, and if it means that whole subplot about the strange lights is actually about Hastur.

That moment stuck with me too The book name felt planted not random It read like a quiet nod to something bigger but I cant be sure

I think it is a nod to Hastur It keeps the yellow king energy in the frame and the lights thread fits that mood

Could the real issue be that we are chasing a meaning the filmmakers never intended?

A quick memory from a different scene comes back The color scheme and the book smell of dust but the moment faded fast and I doubted it meant anything concrete
