What exactly is the alien threat in the trailer, physical or energy?

I just watched the trailer for the new sci-fi movie and I’m honestly a bit confused about the main threat. The visuals are stunning, but the way they’ve edited it makes the alien entity seem both physical and a kind of energy wave, and I can’t tell if that’s intentional or just messy marketing. Has anyone else picked up on this, or maybe spotted something in the leaked storyboards that clarifies what we’re actually dealing with?

I caught the same dual vibe. The trailer keeps pinging between something solid and a shimmer of energy, and to me it felt like a deliberate choice to keep the danger slippery rather than a single creature. The visuals land, and then it drifts into a wave as the ship twists away.
