I’m trying to organize a small giveaway for my followers and I’m completely stuck on the entry rules. I want it to be simple and fair, but I also want to make sure people are actually engaging with the content. How do you decide what a reasonable requirement is without making it feel like a chore?

I ran a small giveaway last month and kept it simple. People just had to like the post and leave a short comment. We avoided extra steps and it felt fair. We still saw some bots so we added a follow requirement for eligibility and used a random picker from the comment list. The result felt okay but not perfect.

I tried a similar setup and found people skim if the rule feels long. I kept it short but then I worried about how to tell real engagement from a quick comment. In the end we asked a tiny prompt in the comment and that helped a bit but it was still easy to game.

I drifted one evening and started thinking about fairness rubrics for prizes but then I caught myself staring at the post image and how it looked on different screens. When I came back to rules I still felt unsure about what counts as real engagement.

Is it worth tying entry to a small action beyond a like or comment such as answering a fun prompt or tagging a friend in a specific way?
