What fixes a DirectX error causing game to crash to desktop at match load?

I keep getting a DirectX error that crashes the game to desktop right when I load into a match. The message says something about a device being removed, but my graphics drivers are up to date. I’m not sure what else to try since it happens so consistently.

I ran into the same thing once. even with drivers up to date, it would crash as soon as a match loaded. I tried forcing borderless windowed mode and turning off fullscreen optimizations in Windows. It wasn’t a perfect fix, but it cut the crashes down a bit.

I kept an eye on temps and power during those load moments. I saw the GPU spike and the driver reset, which felt like the real culprit. If you have an overclock or a sketchy PSU, that can trigger the device removal error even with fresh drivers. I dialed back the overclock and improved airflow; still not 100 percent, but better.

Are you launching in fullscreen or borderless windowed?

Another angle I tried was verifying the game files and doing a clean reinstall of the GPU drivers, plus turning off overlays from Steam or Discord. I also installed the DirectX runtime. If nothing changes, it might be something outside the game like RAM or the power supply.
