I just installed the new expansion and now my game keeps freezing on the main menu screen. It’s not a full crash to desktop, but the music plays and the animations loop while the buttons become completely unresponsive. I’ve already verified the game files through the client, but that didn’t help at all. Has anyone else run into this kind of soft lock?

I had something similar after a patch it froze on the menu with music looping I could not click any button and I ended up closing the game forcefully

A friend told me it happened to them when their gpu driver was old They updated and that helped a bit but the problem stayed for me

I tried turning off overlays and started in windowed mode just to see if anything would move but the main menu stayed unresponsive

Verified files did not fix it for me either I paused and gave it a break then came back and it still hung at the start

I hopped between games and back again and the issue popped up again later so I did not trust it to be solved by luck

Could this be the patch itself?
