What helped with ear pressure and crackling from Eustachian tube dysfunction?
#1
I’ve been dealing with a constant feeling of pressure and crackling in my ears for months, especially when I swallow. My doctor mentioned it might be related to my eustachian tube function, but the standard decongestants haven’t helped at all. I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this specific sensation and what ended up providing some relief.

I had something like that for months. The doctor said it could be Eustachian tube dysfunction. There was a constant pressure and a crackling when I swallowed. The usual decongestants did nothing, and I started worrying it would stay forever.

I tried a bunch of things people mentioned, but nothing moved the needle. It seemed worst after a cold or when my allergies flared. A friend suggested a different nasal spray, but it didn’t help me either.

I did end up seeing an ENT later, and they did audiology tests. I still don’t have a clean answer, but he mentioned that fluid behind the eardrum can show up sometimes. I kept thinking maybe it’s just pressure changes and not a big deal, but it wears you down.

Do you think this is the real problem, or is the sound something else?
