What helped you break out of a streaming slump and find a solid show?

I just finished the new season of my favorite show on Netflix, and now my watchlist feels completely empty. I’m stuck in that cycle of scrolling for an hour and giving up, so I’m wondering if anyone has found a hidden gem that actually pulled them out of a similar slump.

Yeah, that slump is real. I did the same after a binge and wasted an hour scrolling. I let the app pull a random pick from any new release and just watched 20 minutes. It wasn’t flawless, but it woke me up a bit.

I tried a low risk path: 15-20 minute episodes, nothing heavy. Found a show with a cozy vibe, something simple, and it snapped me out of the loop for a couple of evenings. Not life changing, but enough to feel different.

Do you think the real problem is the hunt itself and not the watchlist? Like maybe we’re chasing a mood we can’t name and the algorithm just makes it louder?

I grabbed a familiar comfort show and let myself rewatch a few episodes. It wasn’t exciting, but it loosened the pressure and reminded me what I enjoy without requiring a new discovery. Then I unconsciously started scrolling less.
