What keeps you playing Cyberpunk 2077 after 2.0 if main story loses its pull?

I just finished the main story of Cyberpunk 2077 after the 2.0 update and I'm genuinely torn on whether to keep playing. The world feels so dense now, but I'm worried that without that central narrative pull, just doing side gigs and police scanners might start to feel hollow. Has anyone else hit this point and found a good reason to stick around in Night City?

Yeah I hit that exact vibe after finishing the main thread post 2.0. The city felt big and alive, but the pull of a single story was gone. I kept wandering, chasing random gigs and NCPD scanner loops, and realized the city itself is the show now. Its density is the point—the little dramas in a random alley, the way certain vendors react to your rep, the gear and cyberware you can tinker with. It isn’t a single arc; it’s a hundred tiny ones, some of them unfinished, some of them silly. That realization kept me going, even if the thrill isn’t the old mission line.

I tried a no-sleep, long-distance route; picked a build around stealth and hacking, and kept a log of my small wins: a rare component drop, a clean extraction, a run that felt smooth. Some gigs paid off, some were terrible timings. It’s messy, but the world stays interesting when you commit to a little goal each night rather than chasing a big finale.

I also thought maybe the problem is me expecting a new main pursuit. I did a few side gigs that felt repetitive and burned out. I did a gear pass and thought, this should feel fresh, but it didn’t. Still, the city felt alive in daylight and night cycles, random encounters, the way a rumor leads to a tiny pocket of loot.

Do you want a stronger through-line still, or are you looking for a new habit to anchor your nights?
