What knee symptoms after MRI suggest a possible meniscus tear?
#1
I’ve been dealing with persistent pain in my right knee for about six months, and my doctor mentioned the possibility of a meniscus tear after an MRI. I’m trying to understand if my specific symptoms, like the catching sensation and swelling after activity, really line up with that diagnosis or if it could be something else.

I went through something like that too. The catching and swelling after activity can fit a meniscus tear, but it also shows up with other knee issues. The MRI helps, but the signs don’t always line up perfectly with the diagnosis.

For me the key was tracking what I did before the swelling. Rest and ice helped a bit, but I learned more from watching how different activities—like stairs, squats, and light jogging—affected things over a few weeks.

A physio friend suggested gentle movement and a routine of hip and ankle work to take some pressure off the knee. I tried it for a month and the swelling kept coming back after a few days, so I stopped hoping it would fix itself.

Did you notice locking or trouble straightening, or does it just feel stiff after a run?
