What makes a con photo op worth the price?
#1
I’m trying to decide if it’s worth getting a photo op with one of the main guests at the upcoming con, but the price is pretty steep. I’m worried the rushed, ten-second interaction might feel awkward and not live up to the memory I’m hoping for. Has anyone else paid for one and actually felt it was worth it afterwards?

I did one last year for a big guest. It was short, like ten seconds, but when they called my name and signed the print I felt connected to the moment. The photo sits on my desk and it still brings back the room’s energy.

I skipped them and saved the money for other parts of the con. Spent it on extra merch and a late panel. The memories from the rest of the weekend feel bigger than a rushed moment in a hallway.

I almost talked myself out of it because of the price, but I went ahead. The line moved fast, the staff kept it efficient, and the photo turned out clear. It’s not life changing, but I’m glad I have a tangible keepsake.

Is it really the memory you want to own or is it just a brag on social? I mean, will this photo keep its glow after a few months, or fade like a flare from the weekend?
