What makes industrial cleaning videos oddly satisfying to watch?

Has anyone else noticed how weirdly satisfying it is to watch those videos of industrial machines cleaning streets or power washing driveways? I just spent an hour watching a single clip of a rusted metal surface being restored and I can't really explain why it's so compelling.

Totally get it. The sound of the spray, the rhythm of the wand, and watching rust peel away feels oddly soothing in a busy day.

I tried watching one clip and then pulled out a rented pressure washer for my own porch. Stubborn moss came off in patches and the whole thing looked better for a while, even though my arms hated me later.

Is the real draw maybe just a tiny sense of control in a day that feels out of control? I’m not sure, but the moment when the grime disappears feels kind of earned.

I once drifted into a rail-yard video by accident, the hydraulics humming, and it reminded me how even big machines need patience. Then I came back to the driveway clip and thought maybe small, steady work has the same mood.
