What material works best for 3D printer enclosure panels to prevent warping?
#1
I’ve been trying to build a custom enclosure for my 3D printer to cut down on noise and drafts, but I’m stuck on what material to use for the panels. I’m leaning toward clear acrylic for visibility, but I’m worried it might warp from the bed heat over time. Has anyone here had success with a similar build?

I tried clear acrylic panels for the enclosure and the view is great. The heat from the bed did cause some bowing after a few weeks.

I ended up using polycarbonate panels instead which handle heat better. It stays rigid and I added a vent on the top to keep air moving.

Do you think the problem is actually heat or is it just drafts that you want to keep out?

I did a quick test with a single acrylic door and watched the edge warp when the bed ran at high heat for a few hours. It cooled fine but I wouldnt trust it long term
