What matters more in sleep tracking: quality or duration?
#1
I’ve been tracking my sleep with a wearable for months, and my deep sleep duration looks decent, but I still wake up feeling completely unrestored. Has anyone else found that the numbers don’t match how you actually feel in the morning? I’m starting to wonder if the quality of that deep sleep matters more than just the total time spent in it.

I feel you. My wearables show decent deep sleep too but I wake up feeling wrecked anyway. Maybe the device reads stages oddly or there is a mismatch between what it counts and how rested I feel.

I tried tracking for two weeks and comparing mornings to the numbers. Even when the stats looked solid I still felt unrefreshed. I added a fixed wake time for a week and stopped caffeine after 2 pm but it did not move the needle.

Maybe the real issue is not the clocked sleep at all but something like fragmentation or non restorative sleep that the gadget does not capture well.

I keep hoping the answer is simple but it feels messy and unsettled some mornings.
