What novels have stunning prose but a plot that lands flat?

I just finished a book that was so beautifully written, but the ending left me feeling completely hollow and a bit cheated. Has anyone else had this experience with a novel where the prose was stunning but the plot resolution fell flat? I keep thinking about the sentences, yet I'm left wondering what the point of it all was.

I did a quick reread of a few chapters and noted the recurring motifs, but the sense of closure I wanted still felt out of reach.
