What podcast really dives into film editing craft and scene breakdowns?

I’m trying to find a new podcast that really gets into the nuts and bolts of how movies are edited, but everything I find is either too surface-level or just interviews with directors. I want to hear editors break down specific scenes and their choices. Has anyone come across a show that focuses on that craft?

I hunted for this too. A few editor focused episodes would drill into a single scene and explain rhythm, but they were sparse and sometimes slid into talk about the director's vision rather than the cut decisions. I started keeping a notes doc and would pause a scene, count the cuts, and guess what the editor changed and why. It helped a bit, but the cadence was never fully nailed down; I could feel the subject slipping away if the interviewee wandered.

I kept thinking maybe the problem isn’t finding the right show but what I want from it. I watched a couple of interviews where editors explain their process, but it felt general. I ended up skimming transcripts and looking for posts where someone actually shows the scene and writes why each cut happened, even if it wasn't a podcast.

Do you want purely technical breakdowns of editing choices or are you hoping for more about pacing and scene structure? I ask because I’m not sure there’s a perfect podcast that bikes through a scene frame by frame without drifting.

I did find a moment where an editor walked through a scene in real time, talking about tempo and reaction shots, but it was one-off and not a regular series. I kept listening anyway, hoping for a stretch of episodes; didn’t really materialize.
