What sensitivity settings should i use for my high-dpi mouse in fps?

I’ve been trying to get used to my new high-DPI mouse, but I keep overshooting targets in FPS games when I need to flick quickly. My old mouse had a much lower sensor resolution, so I’m wondering if I just need more time to adjust my muscle memory or if there’s a specific in-game sensitivity setting I should pair with it.

I swapped to a higher DPI mouse and at first kept overshooting on fast flicks. It felt like I had to relearn how far a quick move would move the crosshair.

I kept the mouse resolution fixed and tweaked in game sensitivity in small steps, and after a few sessions the flicks started landing more reliably. It took hours and a lot of tiny adjustments.

Are you sure the issue isn’t raw input or acceleration in the game? sometimes the settings or VSync or borderless can throw off quick aiming more than the hardware.

I did a quick test: I measured my hit rate on a practice flick map and dropped the aim drift by settling on a steadier, slower cadence. It helped a bit, but I still miss the occasional target and it’s frustrating.
