What should I add to my chest routine, dumbbell fly or more push-ups?

I’ve been doing a standard push-up routine for months, but my chest development seems to have completely stalled. I’m wondering if adding a **dumbbell fly** to my home workouts would help break through this plateau, or if I should just increase my push-up volume instead. I only have a pair of moderate-weight dumbbells, so I’m not sure if that’s enough to make a real difference.

I tried adding a dumbbell fly after my pushups for a few weeks. The burn was real and my chest felt engaged, but I didn’t see a meaningful size change and my pushup numbers barely moved.

In my experience, simply piling on pushups only goes so far. I mixed in tempo and paused reps, tried different hand positions, but the gains were small and short lived.

Do you think the bottleneck might be nutrition or recovery rather than the chest work itself?

I once wandered off and got lost in worrying about forms and reps, then came back to basics and still felt stuck. It’s messy.
