What should i do about continuing Mushoku Tensei after season one with Rudeus?

I just finished the first season of *Mushoku Tensei* and I’m honestly a bit conflicted about Rudeus. On one hand, the world-building and magic system are incredibly detailed and immersive, but his actions, especially as an adult mind in a child’s body, make it really hard to root for him sometimes. I’m wondering if I should even continue with the second season, or if that discomfort is part of the point the author is making.

Mushoku Tensei season 2 hit and I felt the same tug — amazing worldbuilding, but the adult mind in a kid body keeps stealing the scene.

I kept a tiny log: every time he acts with that mismatch, I noted my reaction; not just cringe, it shifts the power dynamics in the scene.

Do you think the real problem is him or the way the story uses him to test our tolerance for moral ambiguity?

I tried to treat it as a character study and got lost in the details of the magic system, but some scenes with power felt messy and hard to swallow.

I paused after a cliffhanger, walked away, came back later and still felt unsettled but curious.

I want to like it more, but I keep hitting tiny walls and not a single clean answer.
