What should i do about my worn tires: replace now or wait another season?

I’m trying to decide if I should get a new set of tires now or push my current ones for one more season. The tread is getting low, especially in the center, but they still seem to grip okay on dry pavement. I just get nervous thinking about hitting a patch of morning dew or a light rain on my commute.

I went through this last season. The tread looked okay until a few damp mornings and the grip felt a touch unsure. I rode it a bit longer, then swapped tires and felt relief in the rain after.

I did a quick tread depth check with a simple gauge and watched the center wear more than the edges. It wasn't dramatic, but the lingering uncertainty about dew and wet patches pushed me to buy a new set.

Maybe it’s more a weather and road thing than the tires themselves. I blamed the tires for a while, but a slick morning made me rethink. I did confirm pressures were fine and still felt unsure.

Do you think you actually need new tires, or would it be reasonable to slow down and see if things improve as the season progresses?
