What should i do if my password was found in a data breach?
#1
I just got a notification that my password was found in a data breach from a site I don't even remember signing up for. It's making me wonder how many other old, unused accounts are still out there with the same or similar login details, quietly posing a risk.

That breach alert hit hard I had almost forgotten that site I checked my old notes and found a login I kept for years I changed it on the other sites and stopped reusing the same one

I tried a credential manager and did a quick audit of saved sites I noted the ones I never used recently Then I turned on two factor on the risky accounts and started pruning old signups It felt like a small win but I still worry about the rest

Maybe the real issue is not the tally of accounts but the habit of reusing details Could be the alert is noisy and not all warnings are useful I am not sure this tells the full truth

I froze for a moment then pulled up a plan to reset one account at a time It is scary how fast a small dot can become a bigger backlog
