What should I do when insulin resistance worsens despite meals?
#1
I’ve been managing my type 2 diabetes for years, but lately my numbers are swinging wildly even when I stick to my meal plan. My doctor mentioned it might be related to my **insulin resistance** getting worse, but I’m not sure what that actually feels like day-to-day. Has anyone else hit a point where your usual management just stops working as well, even without any big changes?

Yeah, I hit that too a while back. My numbers would swing even though I stuck with the same meals and meds. Some mornings looked fine, then midafternoon spikes would creep in and throw the whole day off. My doctor mentioned insulin resistance getting worse, and it felt like my body stopped listening to what used to work. So frustrating.

I tried adding a short postmeal walk and keeping a steadier sleep schedule for a couple weeks. The swings still showed up, just not as predictably, and I found myself staring at the meter wondering what on earth was happening.

Sometimes I wonder if this is really the problem or if something else is going on. Maybe stress, sleep, meds, or how I time meals matters more than I thought. Is this really the problem?

One week I kept a loose log of foods, moods, and workouts, and the results were all over the place. It helped me feel less alone, but it didn’t fix the pattern, and I still don’t know what to trust most in that moment.
