What should i do when my brain goes blank during a word association game?
#1
I just tried to play a simple word association game with my family over dinner, and it completely fell apart. My mind went blank when my sister said "cloud," and after a painfully long pause I just said "fluffy." It made me wonder if I'm just bad at these quick-thinking games or if my brain works differently.

I’ve had nights like that too. One dinner I froze on a simple cue and ended up saying something goofy just to buy time. It felt awkward in the moment, but looking back I think almost everyone has a moment like this when the pressure is on.

Maybe it’s not that you’re bad at quick thinking, just that the setup hits you differently. Under pressure my mouth goes dry and my mind drifts to safe, generic words.

We tried a soft timer and a no judgment rule after a miss. It helped a bit; I still blanked, but at least the room didn’t go silent every time.

Do you think the real issue is the game or something else like being tired or distracted?
