What should I do when prayer feels like talking to a void?

I’ve always been taught that prayer is a conversation, but lately it just feels like I’m talking into a void. I don’t sense any presence or get any feeling of being heard, which makes the whole practice feel empty and mechanical. I keep doing it out of obligation, but this growing sense of divine absence is really starting to shake my faith. Has anyone else gone through a long period where it felt like your prayers just hit the ceiling?
