What should I do when undervolting a gpu causes a game crash?

I’ve been trying to get my new build to run as cool as possible, so I started undervolting my GPU. I got it stable in benchmarks, but I just had it crash to desktop in a game. I’m not sure if I should push the voltage a tiny bit higher or if there’s something else about the game’s power draw I’m missing.

I undervolted a GPU once and it ran benchmarks fine but would crash in a game. I nudged the voltage back up a notch and the crashes stopped, though temps rose a bit. It felt like the game drew more power than the bench did.

I've found some games hate the card's power curve with undervolting, even if the rest of the system looks stable. I swapped drivers, tried different power limits, and still saw a crash.

Do you have a frame limiter or VSync on? My buddy saw resets during scene changes when the engine dumped a big spike.

Another path I chased was random crashes from the PSU rail sag under peak loads. If your PSU is older or not rated for the card, the problem might be the draw rather than the silicon.
