What should i do with my ASM #300 first printing: grade or slab?

I just got my hands on a first printing of *The Amazing Spider-Man* #300, and I’m genuinely torn about what to do with it. Part of me wants to send it in for professional grading to preserve it and see where it stands, but another part feels like slabbing it would somehow take away from the experience of actually owning this iconic book.

I remember that moment with awe and nerves. I considered grading it to see where it lands, but the act of poking at it felt odd next to how it looked and felt in my hands.

I did the slabbing route once, the slab case looked pristine, the grade came back mid-range, and I suddenly started treating the book like a museum piece rather than something I could read.

It wasn't the number that stuck with me, more the memory of reading it with a stack of laundry ads fluttering in the breeze, and the storm outside rattling the window.

Maybe the real problem is not value or display but whether you still want to actually read it, or if you just want to own the story as an artifact.
