What should I expect during a colposcopy after ASC-US?

I’ve been told my Pap smear results came back as ASC-US, and my doctor is recommending a colposcopy. I’m trying to understand what they’ll actually be looking for during that procedure, and I’m a bit nervous about what the experience will be like.
