What should I trust about sleep data vs how I feel in the morning?
#1
I’ve been trying to track my sleep stages with my wearable, but I’m confused because it says I get plenty of deep sleep yet I still wake up feeling completely drained. The data says one thing, but my actual energy levels tell a completely different story. I’m not sure what to trust or if I’m missing something obvious.

I’ve had the same puzzle. The wearable’s sleep stages read plenty of deep sleep, but mornings feel like I was hit by a bus. Maybe the device isn’t reading the stages the way I experience them.

I tried tuning out the numbers and watching how I actually feel. Some days the graph matched and some days it didn’t, which was oddly reassuring and annoying at the same time.

I stopped chasing the graph and looked at what I did the day before: late caffeine and long screen time. The grogginess didn’t disappear until I cut those.

Could it be the problem isn’t the stages at all but something like sleep fragmentation or breathing? Do you think the data is telling the truth about rest?
