What should I watch for gut health while taking antibiotics for a sinus infection?
#1
I’ve been prescribed a course of antibiotics for a stubborn sinus infection, and I’m worried about how it might affect my gut. I’ve heard these medications can really disrupt the natural balance down there, and I’m not sure what to expect or if there’s anything I should even be watching for while I take them.

I went through a similar course last year. I had stomach unsettled for a few days—bloating, a bit of diarrhea—then it settled and I was fine. It felt like my stomach was off balance for a little, but it didn’t last.

I kept a tiny diary for a week to see what affected me. Dairy seemed to irritate things a bit, so I backed off and that helped a little. It wasn’t a magic fix, just something I noticed.

Have you noticed any changes in your digestion yet? For me the first days were rough, but after a week it was back to normal and I almost forgot about it.

I’m not sure if the gut stuff was the antibiotics or something else. I finished the course and still worry a bit about lingering disruption, but I didn’t have any dramatic problems after week two.
