What should we do with grandma's wedding china?
#1
My wife and I are trying to decide what to do with my late grandmother's wedding china. It’s a full set, but our daily life is so casual and we don’t host formal dinners. It feels wrong to just box it up forever, but keeping it for that one hypothetical fancy occasion also seems off.

We inherited a full china set. I kept it in a glass cabinet and pulled out a few plates for weekend brunch with the kids, which helped, but it still felt like a display rather than something we actually use.

We did a quick count and realized most of it would sit unused, so we picked a small practical subset to keep in regular rotation and tucked the rest into storage bins labeled for special occasions.

Is the real issue the guilt about letting go of a family thing, or is this just a sign we want to lighten up our stuff?

I wandered a while before deciding whether to donate or pass it to cousins, and I still don’t feel sure. It feels like a decision that never fully lands.
