What skin condition could cause pink patches on my back?
#1
I’ve been dealing with these persistent, slightly raised pinkish patches on my upper back for months now. They don’t itch or hurt, but they just won’t fade, and I’m starting to worry it might be more than just dry skin. Has anyone else had something similar that turned out to be a specific skin condition?

I had a patch on my upper back that looked pinkish and a little raised for months. It did not itch or hurt either. A dermatologist told me it was tinea versicolor after a quick exam and a fungal test. It faded slowly after treatment and I stopped stressing about it once the doctor explained what it was.

I am not sure if it was the same for you but I had something similar and I thought maybe it was dry patches or eczema at first. The doctor suggested it could be a few things and to watch it for a bit. It stayed the same until I finally got a diagnosis after a longer look.

Do you think this is the real problem or could there be something else at play such as sun exposure changing color?

I kept hoping it would fade on its own and I kept checking in the mirror every day. In the end I saw a dermatologist and the patch was identified as psoriasis in my case.
