What tops go with wide-leg trousers to look polished?

I’ve been trying to build a more versatile wardrobe, but I keep reaching for the same few pieces. I bought a nice pair of wide-leg trousers hoping they’d be a staple, but I honestly feel a bit lost on what tops to pair them with to look polished and not sloppy.
