What true crime podcasts offer deeper, respectful psychology and family impact?

I’ve been trying to find a good true crime podcast that doesn’t just focus on the gore but really digs into the psychology and the impact on the families, something with a respectful tone. I listened to one recently that handled it well, but I’m struggling to find another with that same depth and sensitivity.

If you want that tone, In the Dark season 1 nails the focus on victims, families, and the long, messy consequences without dwelling on gore.

I also checked out Someone Knows Something; the host gives space to the families and the community impact, though the pacing is uneven and some episodes drag.

Do you think what you’re missing is a podcast that centers the families’ healing and long-term impact rather than the mystery?

I tried a few and drifted to a slower show that isn’t as glossy; it felt more like listening to a friend over tea than a polished production.
