What wireless mouse models feel as instant as wired for shooters?
#1
I’ve been using the same wired mouse for years and finally decided to try a wireless model for less desk clutter, but now I’m noticing a tiny bit of lag in fast-paced shooters that I never had before. Is this just something you have to accept for the convenience, or are there models out there that truly feel as instant as a cable?

I tried a few wireless gaming mice and yeah there was a hair of lag in fast flicks. I got closer to wired by using a solid 2.4 GHz dongle with 1000 Hz polling and keeping the receiver right on my PC, and by staying away from USB hubs. It helped, but it never felt exactly the same.

Sometimes I wonder if the problem isn’t the mouse at all but other latency factors like the monitor refresh, GPU frame times, or background software. After closing a few apps and setting the game to full screen, I felt a bit smoother but not a clean zero-delay sensation.

Is there a model that truly feels instant? I’ve heard claims of 1 ms but in practice I still sense a delay in fast shooters.

I started to drift toward wired after a few weeks, if only to see if the extra desk space is worth it. The change in feel is real, but the clean look helped my focus at the desk, even if the latency nagged a bit.
