What works for a high cervix with menstrual cups or discs?
#1
I’ve been told my cervix is positioned very high and far back, and it’s made using menstrual cups or discs incredibly frustrating. I can barely reach it, even on my heaviest days when it’s supposed to be lower. Has anyone else dealt with this and found a method that actually works?

I’ve been there. my cervix sits high and far back too, so cups felt impossible. what helped a little was using a softer, more flexible cup with a longer stem. I practiced inserting with a bit of a bend and angled the rim toward my back while standing with one foot on the tub edge. I still can’t reach it reliably on heavy days, but I can get a seal on lighter days.

Another tactic I tried was changing positions during insert. squatting, lying on my back with knees up, or leaning forward. sometimes I could feel the rim settle, sometimes not. it didn’t fix the overall reach issue, and I’m not sure I’m doing it quite right.

I keep wondering if the real issue is the tool, not my body. discs and cups both felt dodgy when the cervix is high. a friend suggested maybe a different option for worst days or even pads, rather than fighting it every day. I’m hesitant to blame the cervix entirely.

I kept a simple log for a week: on lighter days I could get something to work, on heavier days nothing stayed in place. I’m thinking about talking to a clinician or trying a different size/shape not just a generic tip. I even tried using a mirror briefly to check what I was doing, which helped a moment, but didn’t solve the bigger reach problem.
