Where are the fare boundary zones for tap-on tap-off buses?

I’ve been trying to figure out the new tap-on, tap-off system on my city’s buses, but I’m worried I’m being overcharged because I’m not sure where the fare boundary zones actually are.

I’ve been there. I felt like my tap and go doesn’t line up with what I expected. A couple rides seemed pricier, and the app never clearly showed the boundary lines. I end up guessing whether I crossed into a new zone or not.

My friend checked the tap history and said there’s a daily cap in our system. So even if a ride seems expensive, you shouldn’t pay more than the cap. On one day I rode three trips, and the app kept showing the same limit at the end.

Maybe the real problem isn’t the zones but the way the boundary lines are shown on the map. I kept looking for the color changes and ended up guessing. If there really are fare boundary zones, I wish the app spelled them out like a simple label.

I did reach out to the transit help line and they sent a PDF of the zone map and fare rules. It helped a bit, but I still don’t know if I’m hitting the right boundary most days.
