Where can i host a free board game night for about ten people?

I’ve been trying to organize a casual monthly board game night in my neighborhood, but I’m struggling to find a good spot that’s free and can fit about ten people without being too loud or disruptive. The local community center requires a reservation fee we can’t really swing, and coffee shops get too crowded. How have others handled finding a consistent, low-cost venue for something like this?

We found a small church hall that is quiet and free if we pitch in with cleanup. Ten people fit fine and it never felt loud.

One month we used a local cafe lounge after hours. They did not charge a big venue fee but asked for a small tip to the staff and to keep noise down. It worked for ten of us most nights.

A library meeting room was free for a couple of hours and it kept things predictable. We could bring our own snacks and games and it stayed calm even with a full table.

Maybe the real problem is the time of day rather than the space and we could try a noon weekend slot to see if a different place opens up.

Sometimes I drifted off topic and started thinking about snacks and the exact game mix more than the space. Yet when a spot worked we learned a pattern like set up time a half hour early and stick to a simple rule about cleanup. Not perfect but it kept us going.
