Where did that stretched-face cartoon meme come from?
#1
I keep seeing this weird, specific clip from an old cartoon where a character’s face gets stretched out, and now it’s spliced into every other video about someone making a bad mistake. What’s the deal with that? I don’t even know where it originally came from, but it’s suddenly everywhere in my feeds.

That stretched face thing showed up in a bunch of clips last year, and I think people started using it as a quick punchline when someone messes up. It feels like a meme that drifted from an old cartoon into reaction videos, but I can’t pin down the exact show or year.

I tried to pin it down too. I watched the frames slowly and it does look like old animation tech, not modern CG. Some threads suggested a 60s or 70s cartoon, but there’s no solid proof they referenced the same clip.

Maybe we’re chasing the origin too hard. The bigger question to me is whether the algorithm and the format push those bits into every bad moment, not where they came from.

I also noticed it lands in contexts that have nothing to do with the original scene, which makes it feel like a reusable prop now.
